Adopting a footpath

Gillingham has over 40 kilometres of public rights of way.                                                                       
We need lots of pairs of hands and eyes to help look after them.

What we would like you to do:
  • walk your path regularly, say once a month
  • report any problems you encounter
  • help with keeping signs, gates and stiles free of vegetation
  • promote responsibile use of the path


What you can expect from us

  • initial training and advice on rights of way and reporting problems
  • continuing supprt
  • cover under our insurance policy whilst carrying out the role
  • complimentary secateurs and glove
